SUNN (Swimming) Citizen Merit Scholarship

Scholarship Purpose

The SUNN Citizen Merit Scholarship was established in early 2023 to recognize outstanding student athletes who demonstrate SUNN’s core values of Integrity, Community, Responsibility, Passion and Work Ethic.  This scholarship is merit-based and does not consider the financial need of the applicants.

Award Details

The number of awardees and size of each award are based on the donations that year.  In general, we plan to award four scholarships to graduating seniors at $500 each.

The award ceremony will be held at the Annual Gala in May of each respective year.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the SUNN Swimming Scholarship, athletes must meet the following criteria:

-  Athletes who are children of the SUNN Board of Directors, Volunteers, Officials etc are eligible to apply.   All applications are reviewed by an independent Review Committee.

The application period is from late March to the end of April every year.

Applicants are required to submit a short essay to the following questions:

- Please put your name, date of birth, and swim group on a cover sheet not within the body of the essay, as the selection process will be anonymous.

-  How have you demonstrated the core values of SUNN Swimming within our swim club? (150 words)
